Well believe it or not I spent pretty much all weekend, yes you are reading that correctly, all weekend watching basketball. Really this happens every year in March the ACC tournament comes around and next thing I know a whole weekend is gone. So sometimes the whole weekend is taken up because my team (NC State) loses and I am despondent that I thought we were a much better team then our progress shows or as was the case this year my weekend was taken up because we went so far!
Well although we went to the final game we didn’t win. An unmentionable team won whose leader was in a stupid phantom of the opera like face mask. I am sure I will get out of my funk in time to cheer the Pack on for their NIT game against Drexel but for now I really just wanted to stay at home and be in mourning. It amazes me that my employer doesn’t give me time off to mourn.

No longer near death
Well I am happy to report that I am no longer feeling like I am going to die. I know what you are thinking. You are thinking she is just being overly dramatic. Well you are probably right but still trust me if I coughed much more or had to leave work early many more times I think death would have been imminent.
So now that I am feeling better it gives me time to obsess over something other then the meds that I am taking. My new obsession is “being green”. Now I know that some of you are thinking that you have been green for decades but trust me now that Al Gore tells me in detail that this is happening in my generation and it could really affect me personally I am taking action! I mean I grew up in the “me” generation so I need to take action because it is going to affect me!
So onto the steps that I have taken so far, which began with watching the movie, “Inconvenient Truth”. Al told me that the oceans could raise 20 feet and that my not recycling was making it worse so out I went to get the tools to make the change. Here is what I have done so far:
Bought recycling bin and started to use it.
Bought hook to hang keys on so that I can get at recycling bin on patio
Bought compact fluorescent bulbs and put them in high use lights.
Signed up for NC Green Power
Turned heat down
Turned heat back up a little (the girls and I can only take so much!)
I will keep you updated on how things go but so far so good. I have always tried to purchase things from local sources but I am going to make a commitment to go to the farmers market more this year. I think my first foray will be right before Mom & Dad come to visit at the end of this month.

Over a month
Sometimes a month passes and you ask where has that month gone I haven’t done a thing. Well I am happy to report that isn’t the case with this one!
I have been to Scottsdale and Orlando. One of which I drank way to many Pink Cactus Margaritas. Let me first say that I didn’t even know there was such a thing before the nice waitress in the 70+ degree weather. I now know that Bobby Flay is a big fan of these and serves them at his Mesa grill after a little google help but still….who knew! Other then that really Scottsdale wasn’t that memorable. I was there for work and I worked way more then I should have. I need to remember that even though I am there and responsible I don’t need to be responsible for everyone else and their jobs as well. I still haven’t learned this and I’m not sure how to go about learning it.
Well that is enough about that! What was really good was the Orlando part of the trips. K & L joined me and we spent three gloriously cold days with the mouse! Well before we got there they spent the day going around Universal and then joined the group I was with for dinner at Margaritaville. The drinks were okay as was the food. Nothing really that great which par for the course with these “theme” places in my opinion. I mean once you have had one burger at Hard Rock do you really have to go to every one of them for anything except the tshirts.
Well after the work segment of the trip was done I was onto Disney! We stayed in the Port Orleans French Quarter which was nice. I liked that it was a smaller resort and that our room had a fridge. We didn’t really use it that much but still it was nice to have. Perhaps if it had been hotter, meaning above the 40 degrees it seemed to hover around we might have. Well we had a great time at: Magic Kingdom (one night trip only) MGM and Animal Kingdom. It was nice to get to go on Soarin and watch K&L go on Everest. I think I like these mini trips better because it really focuses your attention. I might not have said that if I had to pay for my air fare but it seemed good to me.
Well when I got back from there and really when I was there as well I have been sick. Starting to feel better now. I think you are up to date on the high points maybe now I can blog again w/o feeling like what I have to share is to much. Lets see how I do.
